In the fluid pipeline, a cylindrical barrier is inserted vertically, and vortices are alternately generated on both sides of the rear part (relative to the fluid flow direction). As the fluid flows downstream, a series of vortices is formed, which we call the Karman vortex street. We define the cylindrical barrier that generates the vortex as the vortex generator. Experiments have proved that the separation frequency of the vortex is linearly related to the flow velocity of the fluid under certain conditions. Therefore, as long as the frequency of vortex separation is detected, the flow velocity or flow rate of the pipe body can be calculated.
